All of us know that being overweight is unhealthy but we overlook the fact that being obese is not only unhealthy but a silent killer. Obesity is main reason for modern day diseases like hypertension, diabetes, Heart disease, PCOD, thyroid, depression and list goes on.
BMI (BODY MASS INDEX) is a good measure of the degree of overweight. BMI is weight in Kg divided by square of height in meters
In today’s competitive world one’s appearance matters a lot, keeping optimum weight is important for both external beauty and internal health. So if we are 25+ BMI range it is important to lose weight but more important is that How we lose weight & at what pace we lose it.

It is not rocket science we all know that keeping check on input and increasing activity level is key to weight loss. But for healthy weight loss it is important how we control input. According to Ayurveda, different constitutions (Vata, Pitta & Kapha) are compatible to different kind of food groups.

Some important facts need to be followed
- Never skip your meals, especially the breakfast. As the word suggest breakfast is breaking the overnight fast. This is the most important meal of the day.
- Have small frequent meals.
- Keep your body cleansed and hydrated by having lots of water. We need to have at least 2-3 liters of water a day.
- Snack on fruits, vegetables and salads.
- Early and light dinners are key to weight loss and maintenance.
